Building Social Capital and Learning Relationships through Knowledge Sharing: A Social Network Approach of Management Students’ Cases

지식공유 연구의 대부분은 자신의 공유 행동에 대한 개인의 설문 보고에 의존하고 개인 속성에 집중한다. 이 연구는 지식공유를 두 사람 사이의 관계로 보고, 다른 유형의 관계가 그것을 어떻게 형성하는지를 묻는다. 분석 틀은 사회적 자본 이론, 사회연결망, 실천공동체(Community of Practice)에 기대고 있다.

미국의 한 경영대학에서 경영학 학생 111명의 연결망 자료를 수집했다. 연결망의 연결은 서로 의존하기 때문에, 이차할당절차(QAP)를 쓴 연결망 로지스틱 회귀분석으로 어떤 관계가 지식공유 연결의 존재를 예측하는지 검증했다.

모형은 지식공유 관계의 약 98%를 정확하게 예측했다. 사회적 자본의 세 차원 가운데 과업 상호의존성으로 측정한 구조적 차원이 두 사람이 지식을 공유하는지에 가장 강한 영향을 미쳤다. 신뢰 연결망과 친교 연결망도 유의한 효과가 있었다.

의의

이 결과는 상호의존적 과업과 같은 구조적 사회적 자본을 쌓는 것이 신뢰, 친교와 더불어 지식공유를 북돋는 실제적인 수단임을 시사한다.
