Summary
From the view that sustained growth in regional human resource development requires active community networks more than a top-down approach, we summarized how research in Korea on community networks has developed.
We collected 97 articles published over the past 20 years in 11 indexed journals related to human resource development, and applied content analysis together with keyword network analysis.
Related research and the receipt of research funding were found to have declined over the most recent five years. Among research methods, qualitative research had the largest share, but quantitative research also increased in the most recent five years. More research was needed on material resources and cyber networks. In the keyword network, lifelong learning, learning community, lifelong learning city, and learning network appeared as important keywords. On this basis we proposed diversifying research methods and statistical techniques, systematizing the area academically, and expanding its topic areas. It was published in August 2018.
