Overview
I took part as a co-instructor in “산업인력분석과 성과관리론 (HR Analytics and Performance Management)”, a three-credit course offered in the second semester of 2020. The first half of the course covers the concepts and theories of performance management, and the second half covers the concepts and uses of HR analytics. In the syllabus, my part is the “HR analytics demonstration and practice” of Weeks 12 to 14 and the Q&A panel in the Week 15 wrap-up. All classes were held as video lectures.
Contents
- Week 12. HR analytics in use and in practice I: demonstration and practice of data analysis and visualization (Tableau).
- Week 13. HR analytics in use and in practice II: selection, training, and development: demonstration and practice of social network analysis (Gephi).
- Week 14. HR analytics in use and in practice II: performance prediction and turnover (retention) prediction: demonstration and practice of text mining and topic modeling (KH Coder, tomoto).
- Week 15. HR analytics wrap-up: took part as a panelist in the Q&A on HR analytics.
In the syllabus, the readings for Weeks 13 and 14 cover recruitment and selection analytics, checking the effects of interventions, predicting employee performance, and predicting turnover. The demonstrations and practice were assigned to the same weeks as those readings and were planned as time for students to work with the analysis tools themselves. The syllabus tells students to install the software for the practice sessions in advance.
