The question

When small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) send people to digital-transformation (DT) training, how far do the outcomes extend, and what shapes them? This line asks how firm size and the fit between technology and environment relate to training effectiveness, and whether firms reach high outcomes through different combinations of conditions.

What we have done

The series rests on K-Hightech Platform data on DT training in Korean SMEs. The 2022–2025 platform data have been integrated, and the original multi-track analysis that feeds the papers below is complete (source project).

What is in progress

  • P1, how far training outcomes extend (prior participation, readiness for the next round, fit with organizational and technical conditions, and subsequent transfer): manuscript being rewritten (project page).
  • P2, firm size and tailored training strategy, testing a non-linear (inverted-U) relationship between firm size and training effect: on hold (project page).
  • P3, technology–environment congruence, using response-surface analysis: analysis complete; manuscript under revision (project page).
  • Follow-ups at the initiation stage: a multi-path study that triangulates QCA, latent profile analysis, and response-surface analysis (project page), and a study of the conditions under which smart-system infrastructure is highest (project page).

Statuses are kept on the Current Research Projects page.
