The question

What can analytic and organizational perspectives add to questions that belong to other fields? I join collaborations outside HRD when the question concerns people, culture, or systems, and when a shared method can carry across disciplines.

What we have done

  • Transdiagnostic psychiatry. A systematic review examined the transdiagnostic perspective, which looks at mental disorders beyond conventional diagnostic categories.
  • Gender inequality in academic medicine. A study of women physicians in South Korean academic medicine examined the cultural practices and implicit biases that shape career paths and sustain gender disparities.
  • International students. A study of international students in Japan examined psychological capital together with adjustment and engagement.
  • Sustainability studies. One paper analyzed investor activity in Chinese financial institutions and how acquiring market information relates to individual and institutional investment behavior. Another studied supply chain sustainability in last-mile food delivery in China during COVID-19.

Together these studies bring cultural and social context into questions of mental health, gender, and adaptation in educational and professional settings.
