Overview

This is a presentation prepared for the 2024 aSSIST public presentation for full-time faculty (materials dated May 28, 2024). I introduced one representative research work and, in the form of answers to questions set by the school, talked about my future directions in research and teaching.

Key points

  • Representative study. I introduced a paper that reviews People Analytics (PA) research from the perspective of human resource development (HRD). It extracted 20 topics with topic modeling, divided them into five topic groups, and compared them with four research clusters obtained through bibliographic coupling analysis. The data analyzed were the titles, keywords, and abstracts of 159 papers.
  • Core values. I summarized the values this study offers as interdisciplinary integration, evidence-based HR practice, the ethics of data use, forward-looking HR strategy, and the development of HR professionals’ data competencies.
  • Thoughts on the 4T. I proposed seeing ethics, creativity, technology, and teamwork not as a single lump but as a system made up of elements that act on one another. The explanation is that sustainable growth of an organization is possible when the four elements move together.
  • AI-based research and teaching. I covered ideas for research topics that combine my field with AI, and for organizing the curriculum in a way different from the existing one.
